DESCRIPTION

Smooth, dark grey, this becoming paler on belly and under-tail coverts; shows a white flash at base wing of feathers and white tips to long, graduated tail, Iris red feet and slim bill back.

DISTRIBUTION

E Himalayan foothills to S Yunnan and discontinuously to Peninsular Malaysia (not Singapore) and Sumatra

HABITS and HABITAT

At c. 1,000-2,000 m in lower and upper montane forest, frequenting the crown and middle storey in small parties, including mixed foraging flocks. Groups move tree to tree, quickly crossing open space at the hills stations their long tails obviously in flight. A series of a lot notes is given (but no varies songs; cf Silver eared- Meisa, above) as they feed on insect and especially, fruits. Nestings season of February - July

Those below photos are taken by me- I admit that some of the photos need to be improved in the quality as specially on the angle, lighting direction - It is quite challenging and very tough task to shoot a photo  a birds especially for a small birds as they are very sensitive to the human and  small movements and sound. Looking for the birds in surrounding of the tree are also quite difficult task, sometimes I have to increase my sense in any small movement between the leaves while in the same times I have to be ready to recompose  my  camera. Sometimes I have to scarify to use AV mode instead of manual mode in shooting very active movement of the birds however with my CANON 5D Mark#3 in my hand, it is very really helpful  in facing  that kind of situation. As a photographer, I am very satisfy so far with CANON 5D  Mark#3, yes it is true it is delightful  and can be captured wonderful as well as  great moment.

PHOTO LOCATION 

The birds as below photo are located at Frasser Hill, however it may located other mountain at Peninsular of Malaysia, 

I was accompanied with my family - my beloved wife Geulis Koerniati, my beloved son Hibatul Wafi and my beloved daughter Zata Yumni - Along with us  is of course my friends who is experience in birds photography Adi Aviantoro - he is the man that introduce in bird photography, and he is the person who take me and my family to go to the Frasser Hill.  Special thanks to him. 

ABOUT THE PHOTO AND DATE TAKEN

Not many birds, I can find towards to the end of the hunting at afternoons. I feel give-up, and I have to consider to end up my hunting session because Wafi is requested me to consider to go back to KL soonest as he actually have a plan to play a futsal with his friend at Kuala Lumpur even tough he'll play it at night. I am also responsible of my wrong doing to my daughter  Zata Yumni and my wife  Geulis, because I left them at  Horse Ridding while we take a bird shooting. Yumni then called me, two or three times, to urge us to perform Shalat Zuhur and invite to take a lunch together - because it was a lunch hour.

Regret of my family situation while in the same time, I also think that my friend enthusiastic, because he  still in the mode  to take a bird shoot as many as possible in that afternoon, I have no choice to have a right decision. In this kind feeling while a I frequent whistle, this birds is appear and perched on the branch as you see in the picture
