ABOUT PHOTOS PLACE AND DATE TAKEN

I was very exhaust looking around the birds to shoot when suddenly I heard  this bird songs just near me for about 3 - 4 meter.  The birds is very small, and the movement can hardly to detect unless we see any leaves sway off. I am quite happy to find this Tailor bird, because almost 90% of birds shooting today is considered fail. I think the most reasonable is I reached at Genting almost noon  that day.

The birds as below photo are located at Awana Genting Resort  however it may located other mountain at Peninsular of Malaysia. The photo were taken at  Sunday 21st.

ABOUT PHOTOS PLACE AND DATE TAKEN

This Tiger Shirke was taken from about 20 - 25 meter away from me. Even this photo was shot at a day time with sun is very bright -  after Dzuhur around 2:00 pm but what makes this photo is much better is because the light is not straightly to the bird. The Tiger Shrike that perched on the branch of the shady pine and the yellowish  breast make this photo better in contrast, in addition that make the advantage that background of this photos a dark forest. I realized the closer to the bird shoot, the better quality photo that I can produce, however this is very difficult because the birds  that exposed in widely open, it tend to fly away from me. I move step by step closer to the bird while I shot in every step for 5 pictures each. The advantage of monopod that I use everywhere and every time to shoot the bird are :

  1. In fact I can select a Single Point Spot AF ( Manual Selection) in which I  can pinpoint and extra focusing to the subject as compare if I used AF Point Expansion. Without monopod I have  to select AF point Expansion, this in addition if camera shake even my lens 70  - 200 mm is IS lens
  2. It is very flexible as compare to tripod, especially if we only have  limited Telephoto Lens. If say, I have 500 mm lens of course I prefer to use a tripod
  3. Light weight in term of handling  and it is more flexible in term of maneuver

The birds as below photo are located at Awana Genting Resort  however it may located other mountain at Peninsular of Malaysia. The photo were taken at  Saturday 27 October 2012.

ABOUT THE BELOW PHOTOS

I quite disappointed during the first shoot on Saturday 20 October, even I also need share with public my previous photo. At the first photos some of them I deleted from my album. Many of  my previous photos, I don't have a choice I had to delete them. Firstly as a whole bird's detail are  blur and in fact te face and throat area is missing the detail. From this first review and at the first glance, the main problem is a back lit and the birds are very much hidden behind the branch and leaves. For the main problem which a back lit issue, no other device except my Canon Speedlite 580EX II I have to use it and this Speedlight will helps me also to tackle  the second issue of hiding behind the leaves.

PHOTO LOCATION AND DATE TAKEN

The birds as below photo are located at Awana Genting Resort  however it may located other mountain at Peninsular of Malaysia. The photo were taken in two days session Saturday 20 October and Sunday 21st. As above explanation not much good birds picture, I have to show in here, in fact I have deleted on my album
