STREAKED SPIDERHUNTER

DESCRIPTION

Olive-green above from forehead tp tail, and buffy white below chin to vent, entire plumage finely streaked blackish. Bright orange -yellow feet often clearly visible 

DISTRIBUTION

Resident from cental Himalayan foothills  trough S China and the highlands of Southeast Asia to Peninsular Malaysia

HABITS and HABITAT

A characteristic bird of flower and upper montane forest in the Malay Peninsular at c 800-1800m , in the middle and upper stories, and in roadside vegetation at the hill stations. Take nectar from banana flowers at forest edge, and insects from the tangles of epiphytes and lichen on branches. Nesting remarkably under recorded considering the species is fairly common. Quick single alarm notes and a 2-note flight call can be often be heard.

ABOUT THE BELOW PHOTOS

I very satisfy to my own shooting today, many of birds that I shoot were beautiful. Today's hunting I am accompanied by Adi Aviantoro. He just came back from Turki last week, After Shubuh pray at Masjid Usamah Bin Zaid, than back home before I picked up him at his apartment at A 315 PARADESA TROPICA Apartment at Bandar Sri Damansara at arroud 8:30 am.

One of the reason why I shot the birds better than before, is becuase I use Monopod that I bought on Friday night. It reduce my hand shaking.
I was so lucky to shot the beautiful moment of Streaked Spider because I was very hopeless at that day after bird hunting for 3 - 5 hours. In the way back to my car, I found that Spider hunter perched on flower. I do not believe in my eyes as well I did not expect, because this birds were fly around beside the busy traffic of the road. And the beauty of the Streaked Spider hunter in this photo, she was on the red flower and flew away, hence it add additional value of this photo ... . This photo was taken at AWANA GENTING HIGHLAND of MALAYSIA .
