DESCRIPTION

Grey head with short white brow and faint eye-ring.grey-brown back and tail with pale tips to tail feathers and rufous tinge to wings. Underparts creams with no trace yellow.Sexes are alike juveniles browner than adults.

DISTRIBUTION

Resident from E Himalayan foothills and parts of E India, through S China and Southeast Asia to Peninsular of Malaysia, but reaching Singapore 

HABITS and HABITAT

Found in rank grass shrubs along forest edges, riverbanks and forested roadside, from the extremes lowlands to maximum 1,500 m in the mountains;characteristics of hillier areas and denser vegetation
than the Yellow-bellied Prinia
Nest is like a tailorbird's , between stitched leaves in a bush. Pair duet, 1 bird calling chiep; chiep; chiep while its partner gives a series of 2 and 3-notice calls, chir-chir, chir-chir-chir
